ParticipantIf anyone is interested in getting together in the Portland, OR area for a RFTW meetup please contact me at the email address below. Please include your contact info. If there is enough interest I’ll set something up. Would really like to invite folks who have not been involved before so we can share the experience and bring them into the family. Ask around with your rider friends. I have a photo presentation that can run anywhere from a few minutes up to an hour.
Thanks for sharing this.

ParticipantThe last 3 years we’ve this exact same meeting in NE Portland. Typically it has been in January. Denmother, myself, and a few others have been spearheading the effort to get the word out to FNG’s and those who haven’t been on the run in a while. I think we should join together in our efforts to pull in those who have questions about RFTW 2020. In the past, the meeting has been held in the meeting room of Round Table Pizza on NE 122nd in Portland. We try to come up with handouts, videos, and assorted brochures left over from the previous year. It is, primarily, a Q&A session with a general presentation and then questions from FNG’s. Why not give me a hollar and let’s pool our resources for this year’s meeting ? I’m thinking that, for 2020, we hold off until sometime in February to have it. January is a bit early, but we still want people to have enough time to plan ahead for May. We also talk about the Fallen Hero Cart escort which we participate in each year on the way to Ontario. We/I hope to hear from everyone in the PNW (WA, OR, ID, NV and northern CA) who want to attend. More information on this will be forth coming. Check the RFTW group on FaceBook and in the forums of this web site.

ParticipantTex, I was not trying to steal anyones thunder. I’m thinking that with the way registration is going we should try to have this gathering before the end of the year. That way all could be ready to make reservations when the hotel list comes out in January. I attended Len’s gathering last winter and think its a really great idea to try to get the word out to more folks about RFTW. I haven’t seen anything about a meetup this winter so I thought I’s start the ball rolling early. Better to take this conversation to email or phone calls. Please email me at the address in my original post so we can discuss. Let’s put our efforts together and make it happen!
