Kinda depends on what brand of bike you have and what brand of CB you have. On my 2018 Road Glide, I had the Harley CB with the Harley wireless headset interface and the Harley branded sena headset. It worked fine, but I didn’t like how I had to charge the headset at lunch when on long rides/on the Run. I ended up going back to a regular plug in headset.
Sena also makes the freewire that I believe will interface with many of the CB units and it works with the sena headsets. I haven’t used that but know several people on the Run that have and seemed to like them.

I also use a Sena (20S) and a Freewire when riding locally with friends. However, it did not work well on the run last May. First, it would not stay charged all day (like Gonzo) and, second, I did not like the way Sena prioritizes what gets through to you. For example: if I am paired with another rider for intercom use the intercom takes priority over the CB. You can hear the CB very faintly but I often missed it. Ended up unpairing it from other riders to ensure I heard the CB. In the end I purchased a wired headset and swapped the Sena out until the ride was completed.
What helped work for me regarding keeping the Sena & Freewire units charged is keeping a portable battery unit in my pack. During lunch I ensured that I charged the Sena & Freewire and that worked perfectly for me. I just paired again 1 additional time through the day and made sure I got back to bike just a tad bit earlier. The battery was small in size and helped me get through my days.
On the other hand what plug in headset do you use?
Steven, I used a Harley branded wired headset. I also tried charging it at lunch as you do but still had issues late in the evening, thus, the wired set.
Even tried plugging the Sena into a small battery pack to keep it charged but the Sena would not operate when in the charging mode (sometimes it would and others it would not).
