A reminder that we have again been included in Veterans Resource Fair the in Whittier this year.
This originally started as a Welcome Home Event in Whittier started by Jose Ramos a very special man that I had the privilege of
meeting and being part of his events. He was a purple heart Recipient and a Combat Medic in Vietnam. When he became ill with cancer Dignity started to have it at Rose Hills and made it into a resource for Veterans as well. It is am amazing event and the turn out is incredible. They have a great group of vendors from the VA to Outreach Programs. They also have a car show that will make all feel young again and bring a smile to your face with good memories. There is music, food, raffles, and just good feeling.
As some of you may remember Dignity use to have a Traveling Vietnam Wall. When it became to fragile to travel it was donated to a museum so that it could be honored by all.
Dignity is also part of the Homeless Veterans Burial Program.
The resource fair is from 2:30PM to 5PM at Rose Hills in Whittier. They are off of 3888 Workman Mill Road in Whittier. Go in Gate 1 and it will be in the Mission Hills. You can follow the white line to the top of the hill and there are signs along the way. Our booth is donated each year by Dignity.
