As some of you know…after 45 years, the VA has decided to talk to me and classify me as disabled.  This has both good and bad ramifications.  The good?  Medical care.  The bad?  They are finding so many things wrong with me…I am amazed I wake up with a pulse in the AM.

This is all to say that I will NOT be riding with my brothers and sisters again this year.  Sometime soon, I am going BACK under the knife.  This time, losing 40% of my pancreas, all my spleen, and gall bladder.  They will also be checking out other concerns while in there. Since some of the issues are large, they will be slicing me open as opposed to doing laparoscopic surgery.  Healing time will be substantial and I will be sidelined from riding until I heal.

So to all…stay safe and know I am with you in spirit.

Dr Z,  My prayers are going up for you, my fellow Marine and RFTW brother. May God keep you safe and bring you back to the run in 2020. Remember that ATTITUDE is everything. And with your POSITIVE ATTITUDE you will prevail.

Semper Fi and God Bless You
