Pelican, thank you much for what you have said–hugs.
Is this going to be the only reunion this year for all 3 routes? I heard many times about a Texas reunion for the Southern Route but see no posting for such. Thank you, Keith
Hello Everyone, in the spirit of requesting to writing out a after action report I have nothing to say about changing a thing about the run. I went all the way from Ontario to DC and I could not have been more impressed at the organization, leadership and purpose of “Run for The Wall” which was obvious and adequately displayed throughout. In fact, I was honored to ride with the Southern Group and meet and greet with all involved from all 3 routes. I have participated in Rolling Thunder for 15 years and for the most part felt an outsider of the clique without complaint. Respectfully and understandably, I was a nameless face in a crowd of thousands riding and supporting the cause, but “Run for The Wall” has changed that feeling for me. I’m still am a nameless face in the crowd, but the mission was much louder, clearer and kinder which is pleasing. I saw no cliques, heard very little, if any, complaint and by day 5 everyone whoever started out in Ontario was committed to holding the line and those were positive rock solid nuances many of us adapted to our lives while in the military–no easy feat. Considering participant civilians, I hold you in more esteem than all former military. I feel it’s a Veteran’s “continuing obligation” to show up, stand and be accounted for our Brothers and Sisters left in the fields afar or right here at home. If I had any one adage to “Run for the Wall” it would be a “True Patriot” badge for all of you in addition to the FNG badge. I Salute you all! “Run for the Wall” leadership and organization–don’t change a thing, it’s wired tight!! Salute,’ Keith Godsey Detroit, MI
