    To all pre-registered riders:

All riders that have pre-registered for 2020 will automatically roll into the 2021 pre-registration database, whether you pre-paid or selected to pay at your sign-in location.
Changes that need to be made on your existing form (new bike, updated expiration dates on license, insurance, route change, etc.) should be directed to the newly established Contact Form category “RFTW 2020 – Registration Revisions.”    ONLY CHANGES TO YOUR FORM should go this category.     The registration team will monitor these contact emails, revise your existing form and re-send it to you.    We will do this until the cut-off date in April, 2021.
If you see that you will NOT be participating in the 2021 Run, please complete a  “Contact Form” under the same category and advise us.   We will then delete your registration, so that accurate participant numbers can be obtained.   This is critical information to the Route Coordinators, so please contact us if you are unable to go.
Refunds—because of the PayPal time limit for issuing refunds, many registrations cannot be refunded.  We are asking that you NOT request a refund if you know for sure that you’re unable to go in 2021.   If you are outside the time window, then there is nothing we can do through PayPal.
Donations—the monies that have been paid towards registration will stay as such for 2021.   Many of you have already stated that you want to donate the registration money for this year and pay, again, next year.   Those who would like to donate to the 2021 general fund to offset the 2020 expenses, can do so by the “Donate” button on the website: https://rftw.us/donate/.   We truly appreciate the support we’ve already seen

    March 20, 2020

On behalf of the Board of Directors, it is my sad task to announce that we are cancelling RFTW XXXII scheduled for May 2020, because of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.  This action reflects the unanimous vote of the Board of Directors, with the concurrence of all four Route Coordinators.  We felt it necessary to make this decision now so that riders will have sufficient time to take whatever actions may be needed, such as cancelling reservations, without incurring any penalties.  We also felt it was necessary so that our state coordinators could begin notifying the communities and organizations who support us as soon as possible.

The Board of Directors did not reach this decision lightly.  Each of us agonized over it and came to this conclusion with the utmost reluctance. We ask for your understanding and support.  Rest assured, our next regular Board meeting on April 9th will mark the beginning of our planning to resume THE MISSION in 2021.

From each of us on the Board, and from your Route Coordinators, thank you!

The BOD is discussing plans to deal with this if it does become an issue and will be releasing a statement soon. Please take note of the fact that we are still over 2 months out from KSU in Ontario and there is no way to know what the course of this Virus is going to be in that time frame. Please rest assured that plans are being made to deal with this.

The best thing to do in a car is to drive ahead of the pack. That way you don’t get hung up in the traffic behind the bikes and you can be at the next stop waiting when the bikes roll in. Just be sure to park out of the way of where the pack is going to be staging so you aren’t  in the way. As for fuel, best bet is to fuel on your own at a different station (Usually a car will only need to fuel 1 or 2 times a day (End of day and maybe one other time). When the pack comes in to a gas station, we usually take over all of the pumps. There will be a 4 wheeler meeting in Ontario to give you a much better understanding of how things will work for you. That meeting is at 11 AM on Tuesday.

The Harley Dealer in Junction City Opens for us on Sunday and (if needed) Monday to take care of us. I would contact them now and schedule an Oil change if you feel you will need one at that point. Otherwise, You can just change it early in California prior to the Run.

On Central the Platoon Coordinator assigns new riders to platoons as the join. Patr of it is keeping the platoons roughly equal in size as well as fitting a new rider into a platoon (Staggered or side by side) that they are more comfortable in. They work as part of the Registration Team but separate.

Thanks! Ted “Boots” Kapner (CR Roadguard for 2020 and RFTW Webmaster) and Kirk “Prettyboy” Olson (CR Roadguard Captain for 2020 and former BOD Director of Communications) started this process a year ago (almost) and both of them worked very hard on getting our website even more user friendly than it was. I think between them they did a great job.

Bullet (Don Pierce, Central Route Road Guard LEO Liaison) Might be able to help with some of those names. He is an Original ’89er and has made MOST of the Runs since it started. Tanker (Mike Mcdole, CR 1st Platoon Leader) May have some as well.

The slots for the ride into Arlington are given to FNG’s. They are handed out based on where you started the Run. Those who start in CA get them first, then they go to FNGs that started on day 2 and so on. The best way to ensure a slot is to start in CA and go all the way.
