Use the spray on SPF sunscreen.

If you “install” sunscreen with your hand, then you get warm and wipe the sweat from your eyes with your bare hand, yeah, the one that has sunscreen on it, you will be reminded very quickly that sunscreen is not meant to be in the eyes !!! ( Oh, and when spraying the stuff on, be sure to remember to close your eyes…it doesn’t take much. Like they say”….a little dab will do ya….”)

    Radar,

Welcome Home & Thank You For YOUR Service.

Keep asking the questions, they are all good and we have all asked similar ones in the past, but may have forgotten….ha ha

There are a lot of fine outstanding people supporting the riders in chase vehicles and also among us in the Chaplin Corps. You and your passenger will be well taken care of if the need arises. ( I speak from experience!!)

I have whittled my day to day needs down to one saddle bag, after years of trying. 2 pairs socks, 2 pairs fast drying rider shorts, ( one pair to wear, one pair to wash & air), one pair riding pants,( to be worn daily), one pair of comfy beach slipper that lay flat,( to wear around the hotel or walking after the days ride), one pair of bermuda shorts, ( to show off the sexy legs…ha ha), I start with 2 T-shirts, but end up buying more at almost every overnight stop. What takes up the most room is the “hard” items such as meds,( do NOT forget them) toothbrush, shaving gear, chargers, etc. If I find that I need anything there is always a WallyWorld or similar outlet nearby our nightly stops and I can get more or a replacement of what I need.

Just do not be bashful about asking questions…….

I look forward to meeting you.

    Is it May yet?

    Merry Christmas

Hang in there Cynthia, as the summer winds down and people start returning from wherever they are in the world, or dealing with the yearly fires in the west, I am sure someone will respond to your post.

I do not ride a trike, my back seat is taken, or I would offer to “strap” ya in…..

    Keith,

I, as a non veteran, sincerely appreciate your input, but YOU, our veterans, are the ones who wrote that blank check, so that myself, my children and my grandchildren,(all girls), may enjoy and utilize the freedoms we have in this GREAT country. It is our obligation and duty, as non vets, to be vigilant and do all that we can to assure your service is not forgotten or ignored. I speak for myself, but, I do what I can, when I can, as I am able to do it, and will continue the Mission as long as the good Lord allows me that privilege.

You, Sir, are held in my and my families highest esteem.

    Thank YOU

in reply to: What Is Hotel Check-In Like Along The Route? #5319

    Paul,

Generally the check in process is fairly straight forward. You stand in line and wait your turn! Just keep a positive attitude and go with the flow….so to speak. The hotels know we are coming. ( the 1st year was a learning curve for several of them) They have done this drill before and usually have extra front desk personnel on hand just for our check in. Some go out of their way to make our one night once a year stay with them “special” for us.  I would questimate the overall average check in time to be less than 20 minutes at a host hotel. (usually much less) Patience is the word.

That being said, if you have a roommate, there is no need for both of you to stand in line. The clerk just wants the individual who is on the reservation in front of them, with their credit card and photo ID. I hope this helps & others chime in with their own perspectives.

Ride safe, see you in Ontario.
