The Parade schedule and reservations link is now active. I’m posting it here for your use. I will not be coordinating a group to the parade. Hope to see you there!
Looks like the men’s red shirt with the XXIII logo on the front left chest has been removed from the store. I’m really hoping that the misprint gets corrected and the shirt is made available again. Red shirts for R.E.D. Fridays are the norm in my household and the design on the back is fantastic.
To those that worked hard to get the merch designed, purchased, and placed on the website… Thank You!
I rode a Honda VTX 1800T my FNG year. It had a car tire (darkside) on the back which is great for rain and freeways but not so much for tight cornering. The twisties were no problem for me even though a couple of them were pretty tight. The pack rides single file and at your own comfort level. You’ll be just fine.
I totally agree with Big Red on this. My FNG year, I put it on before the run. I was determined to go all the way unless I physically could not. I was so determined, I was prepared to buy a new bike or rent a car if my scooter had issues. Nothing would stop me. If something goes south on you, just switch the patch.
Whenever we are staged you will hear a 3-5 second horn go off, this is to let you know we have 5 minutes before we leave. As soon as you hear it you need to get to your bike and get your gear on and get ready to leave. As soon as the route coordinator leaves we all follow. They will not wait for anyone not ready. We have a strict timeline to keep and lots of people waiting on us to get there.
Bingo! I’ve never been left behind, but more than once, I was in a big hurry to meet the departure and wound up not switching out of my everyday glasses to my prescription goggles. It really sucked when we hit rain with just my regular glasses on. My tip along these lines is get everything ready you’ll want to put on and leave it on your bike when you head off to the restroom or water truck. Then come back quickly and visit with your brothers and sisters while you gear up. When the horn goes off all you have to do is sit on the bike and cinch up the chin strap.
Thanks Pelican, that’s what family is about. We leave nobody behind and ride for those who can’t. N25Sportz, soak it all in and “be present” for everything. There are moments on the run which will impact you regardless of your perspective, but if you press into the experience it will be so much more meaningful. Keep the rubber side down!
Stay positive! Prayers going up for you from this rider.
Had to scrap my 2015 FNG Run when my dad, who was going with me, had a stroke. We both went all the way FNG in 2016! You got this. And by the way, it wasn’t a surprise to God. He’s got your back.
