Welcome mitchrand to the mission it will change you forever, you were asking for advice on what to do to get ready for the run. There is a list of everything you would need to take on the web site BUT if you took everything on the list there would be no room for you on your bike. I have a popup tent trailer so I take 3 pair of pants, 6 pair of socks and underwear, 6 tee’s, two long-sleeved tee’s, and a ditty bag 2 towels if you are staying in hotel skip the ditty bag stuff. Have you ever ridden in a really large group before, if not get some people together and ride 10 to 12 feet apart and staggard and try and keep that distant while riding also practice emergency stopping, we do have to do it a couple of time during the run. If you forget anything there is a Walmart somewhere. Drink lots of water before and during the run, they will have a hydration trailer at every stop. make sure everything on the motorcycle is taken care of before May 17th Tire, oil change, Lights also money my wife puts the money together (1) 10.00 (1) 5.00 (5) 1.00 with a paper clip for fuel stops they round it up or down to the nearest dollar amount! What else to expect lots HUGES and HUGES from people you don’t even know all the way across the US you will have more brother and sister than you can count. I don’t know when you will get to Ontario Ca. We are leaving Mid-Michigan May 1 2023 and will get to So Calif around the 5th or 6th of May staying with my son in Apple Valley Ca. till the morning of the 15th then to the Host hotel 15th and 16th of May you know what happens on then starting of the mission.

I would also like to add to the list if you’re pulling a trailer make sure that you have chains from the trailer to the bike just about every year, we have someone that shows up the day we depart from Ontario with no chains on their trailer. The run require bike with trailer have chains.

I have the J&M heat set on my 2014 wing in 2016 somehow the cord from the bike to the helmet got damaged somehow. I call J&M that day asked where I could get a new one, I told him I was on the Run to The Wall he asks what our next overnight stop would be I told him, and he had it there at the post office the next day in Junction City great people to work with. I think the cost at the time was like 39 or 49 bucks they did not charge me for shipping

Go to wingstuff.com and put in your year of bike I look it up 599.00 for the CB and they have three def hand controls

Hi Big Tom, I have a car trailer at my son house in Apple Valley Ca. that I need to be hauled back here to Michigan. If you are interested in doing it that way, I would pay for the fuel from DC to Michigan. Where do you live it would work for both of us you would not have to buy a trailer and from DC to Michigan I would pay for the fuel, or you could do the sandbox run as wall and I could pick the trailer up in Indiana let me know if this works for you.

Hi Big Tom what would you like to know about camping and what route are you taking. I have done the Central route for the past 6 years This last we camped out in are tent trailer for 5 nights and the other 5 night we stayed in church’s and Vet’s hall and inside fair grounds building most places have showers or have a way you can take a shower if you have any question just ask

The HD dealer in Montclair Ca. will do it they are really nice people you need to get there first thing in the morning because everybody from RFTW is doing the same thing just let them know that you are with RFTW they will take care of you I have also given the phone # below along with the address. It is about 5 to 6 miles from the staging area and the hotels.

Hi Hotrod The Platoon Coordinator is the person that all the platoon leaders in each of the routes report to for the daily information and yes each route has one. If you would like to help contact the someone on the board they can help you with how and or needs to be done.

Hi GHOST2 I was just reading some of the post on here and seen that you have a son that lives in Victorville. I have a son the lives in Apple Valley right next door to VV we are not going to be able to make it this year we live in Michigan now next year we are going on the run all the way my be we can ride together in 2021.
