Leadership Positions & Hat Colors

Each route on Run For The Wall has various leadership teams that function to serve the participants and guide them safely across the United States from coast to coast and from wall to wall. The leadership teams are more or less the same on all four RFTW routes with some small nuances on specific routes.

RFTW Routes

  • Central Route – The original route from 1989 and the northern most route. Starts in Ontario, California and terminates in Washington, D.C.
  • Midway Route – Goes through the middle of the US mostly following I-40. Starts in Ontario, California and terminates in Washington, D.C.
  • Southern Route – As the name implies, is the southern most route and mostly follows I-10. Starts in Ontario, California and terminates in Washington, D.C.
  • Sandbox Route – A three-day route that begins the day after the three coast to coast routes end. Starts in Washington, D.C. and terminates at the Middle East Conflicts Memorial Wall in Marseilles, IL.

What Do All The Hat Colors Mean?

This is the top of the food chain. Once the kick stands are up and wheels are rolling the RC is in command and the ARC is second in command.
