Top Level Positions and Prerequisites

Platoon Leadership

Must have completed RFTW All the Way at least once; Have (or will have) a working, installed GMRS Radio; Planning to go All The Way CA to DC; and Be willing to train in all Platoon Leadership positions.

Fuel Crew

Must have completed RFTW All the Way at least once; Planning to go All The Way CA to DC; and Be willing and able to perform all Fuel Team responsibilities.

Staging Crew

Must have completed RFTW All the Way at least once; Planning to go All The Way CA to DC; and Be willing and able to perform all Staging Team responsibilities.

Leadership Support

Must have completed RFTW All the Way at least once; Planning to go All The Way CA to DC; and Be willing and able to perform all specific Leadership Support responsibilities. Some positions may require a working, installed GMRS Radio.

Road Guard

Road Guards are not a typical volunteer position. RG candidates are nominated based on demonstration of exemplary riding skills during previous run(s). Candidates must have completed RFTW ALL THE WAY at least once; Have (or will have) a working, installed GMRS Radio; Planning to go All The Way CA to DC or DC to IL; and Be willing to train in all Road Guard positions. Must ride a 2-wheel motorcycle, and have recently completed an approved course of training and present completion card to the RGC prior to the run.

Ambassador

Ambassadors are not a typical volunteer position. They are nominated and evaluated by route leadership based on years of experience and specific route need.

KLIM is offering sponsorship for all 2026 run for the wall participants. To register simply email Mark Kincart at [email protected] or call him at 602-369-1143 He will get you set up and also help you with any gear questions, from layering to outerwear.

NOTICE: Previous year’s route itineraries are provided as archival reference/examples only. Specific details including exact route, stops, hotels, etc are dynamic and change from year to year. Current year route itineraries are typically released in March. Only the current year Route Itinerary should be used to plan your trip.
