The Treasurer is not only a member of the Board but is also a corporate officer with financial and fiduciary responsibilities to the corporation.
This critical position has specific requirements to best serve the corporation and its riders. The successful candidate needs experience with write-up accounting, must be familiar with GAAP, experience with QuickBooks, especially the on-line version, experience with Excel to include creating and modifying spreadsheets, the ability to coordinate multiple actions with multiple players to include other directors and vendors, familiarity with banking apps and their various payment options. Additionally, the Treasurer must be familiar with non-profit reporting across various government agencies. Understanding of and the ability to research reporting requirements, along with the nuances of RFTW and its operations is essential. A huge plus would be someone with credentials to prepare our annual Form 990 return and the ability to represent RFTW during an IRS audit. CPA, Enrolled Agent, or Registered Tax Return Preparer are all positives. While the position does not require a CPA, bookkeeping experience alone is not sufficient. Staff accounting experience would be an ideal qualification.
The successful candidate will submit a resume focused on their meeting the above qualifications, along with RFTW experience. Submit complete resumes to Secretary@RFTW.us. Prior to final approval of the BoD, candidates must successfully undergo a background check and a financial check.
The vacancy will occur on 31 August 2025; however, the successful candidate can be brought on-board early so that we can ensure a smooth transition.

Run For The Wall is excited to announce a new feature to broaden our reach, further our Mission, and do a little Q & A about why we ride, how we ride, and how you can get involved.
Below is the teaser (Season 1, Episode 0) of the new Run For The Wall Podcast. This is a taste of things to come. The coming full episodes will be a bit longer and we will have regular features like upcoming RFTW events, guests, tech tips, and more… We will be dropping the first full episode (Episode 1) in the next couple of days and we are working on getting the Podcast up on all popular platforms. Yup, it’s August for sure. And in the off season I have been working on a number of things to improve and enhance the Run For The Wall online presence and interaction with our ridership, supporters, and future FNG’s.
You asked and we delivered. We just launched the official RFTW Forum on a new platform. Check it out at https://forum.rftw.us. We pre-seeded the forum with some popular topics but feel free to add new threads as needed. We have a group of moderators who will be monitoring forum activity. We want to keep this Mission focused. If you have rants or raves, praise or prose about RFTW matters this is the place. However, this is not the place to air out political/ideological issues.
We just launched a brand-new feature on the website – The RFTW events calendar, which can be accessed at https://rftw.us/events. We will be posting everything from local RFTW meet-ups to RFTW reunions, to HFOT and veteran’s support functions. We need your input to add more events to the calendar. To add events, scroll to the bottom of the events calendar main page and click on the button that reads “SUBMIT AN EVENT”. All events submitted will be manually reviewed for relevancy and legitimacy prior to publishing. Again, we want to keep this Mission focused.
