Midway Route Coordinator News – December 2017

Here it is December, and Christmas is around the corner.  Let’s all be sure to remember our Military and their families.  There will be so many of our Brothers & Sisters that will not be able to be Home for Christmas.

2018 will be here before we know it, and so will May!

I would like to report that the 30th Run For The Wall is continuing to shape-up. Our State Coordinators, Leadership, and BoD are working hard to make our 30th RFTW great.

I hope to have the Midway welcome video up on the RFTW site in the next few days.

It will be May sooner than we think, so please start getting your bike and yourself ready… While not technically a requirement for you to participate and ride with RFTW, you would do yourself a favor by seeking out an MSF2, Advanced riders course, or Ride-Like-A-Pro Course, etc. I would strongly recommend you take it… This is not a joy ride, it is a 10-day MISSION across the Heartland of America, If this is your first time, you will be glad you did it.  Those of us with years of RFTW’s under our belt, continue to take these courses, including our Road Guards.

If you have not Pre-Registered, please do so. This helps the BoD, and the Route Coordinators have a count on people joining their route. It also makes Check-in easier for you, no matter where you join us, whether that be Ontario, CA or somewhere in the middle of the country.

Please also read Les Williams’ President’s Message.

THANKS TO ALL, AND HAVE A MERRY, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Midway Route Coordinator News – November 2017

Well, Thanksgiving is upon us, and I hope everyone will have a great one. I know I am Blessed, and so Thankful for Sassy, Family, RFTW family, and Friends.

It’s not quite May… BUT IT WILL BE MAY BEFORE WE KNOW IT!

The BoD, Route Coordinators, State Coodinators, and last but not least Leadership, are moving forward on putting together another great 2018, 30th RFTW Mission.

I would like to say to our Military, Patriots, and Non-Military riders and supporters… Run For The Wall welcomes you to do as much of this mission as you possibly can.  If its a few hours, a day, a week, or the whole mission, WE RIDE FOR THOSE WHO CAN’T .

30 years ago, a group of Active Military, Veterans, Patriots and supporters left California on a motorcycle Mission to Washington, DC in order to make sure we bring our MIA and KIA Home from all Wars. Today we still make the Ride. WE LEAVE NO ONE BEHIND!!!

I would like to quote James “Gunny”Gregory, one of the original RFTW founders. I may not get this exactly right… Here goes…

“You may have done the Sturgis bike rally, Daytona bike rally, etc., but if you have not done RFTW you ain’t done nothing. Riding ACROSS THIS COUNTRY on a motorcycle with a bunch of vets at 65 miles an hour. WOW! COME JOIN US!”

Be sure to read the RFTW Presidents’ Message and check out the Central Route RC’s Welcome Video. Great Job Harlan! I hope to finish the Midway Welcome Video and have it up by the end of this month.

Online Registration is up and running, Please Pre-Register. This is a great help for our BoD and registration teams.

RC’s Safety Tip… RFTW is a motorcycle run across the United States of America. Make sure your motorcycle is checked out by a certified person, all your equipment is is in working order, your tires are in good condition, and any medical condition you may have is under control.

Thank you, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Good Morning All!

My name is Mike “Bandit” Huber. I have been chosen to be your Route Coordinator on the Midway Route for the 30th year of Run For The Wall.  It is My Deepest Honor to be in that position; I am a Vietnam Veteran; I served with the 1st Cav 3rd Brigade 229th Assault Helicopter Battalion and the 129th 1st Aviation Brigade Assault Helicopter Co.

Glenn “Wombat” Waggoner has been chosen by the Board of Directors as the Assistant Route Coordinator and Ken “Six String” Dugas has been chosen to be our Road Guard Captain. It is my honor to have these two as part of our Leadership Team.

Well here we are in September and May will be here before we know it!

I hope that everyone is preparing for another great mission RFTW XXX. It seems like just yesterday that I was on my first RFTW mission in 2003.

I will be posting our leadership contact list soon. If there is anyone who would like to volunteer and who meets the criteria please let me know.
