Merchandise Sales Help Needed For Midway Route

Fellow RFTWers,

Crunch time is here! We’re less than three months out now from KSU for the 2024 Run For the Wall and I am still seeking sales help for the Midway Route. As a reminder, over 66% of our merchandise revenue for RFTW comes in on the 10+3 days we’re on the road across all four routes. As stated in the President’s Message earlier this month, our existence and ability to run the operations is highly dependent on our sales of merchandise. So, if you already plan to drive a 4-wheel vehicle or know of anyone that is looking to volunteer in another capacity, and planning to go all the way, please have them reach out to me. I would hate to see the Midway Route not have the full support of the Run For the Wall trailer on the route and ability to support customers with our merchandise. I’m looking for at least two volunteers. Here are the roles:

Sales Team Lead

  1. You will serve as the merchandise team lead selling RFTW merchandise.
  2. You are customer focused and will represent the face of the RFTW merchandise team.
  3. You will need to be able to operate the point-of-sale system and manage cash and credit card transactions. Training will be provided.
  4. You will need to be able to reconcile all transactions for each day and provide the Treasurer, or appointed person, with the cash received each day. Reporting format will be determined by the Treasurer.
  5. It is recommended to have at least one other person as part of the team (can be the driver). Other volunteers are welcome.
  6. You will be required to be in Ontario, CA the Friday before the Run for training and to help set up and sell merchandise at either the Elks, host hotel or both.
  7. You will need to provide your own transportation unless other arrangements are made with the merchandise truck driver to ride along.

Sales Team Contributor

  1. You will support the Sales Team lead helping sell RFTW merchandise.
  2. You are customer focused and will represent the face of the RFTW merchandise team.
  3. You will need to be able to operate the point-of-sale system and manage cash and credit card transactions. Training will be provided.
  4. You will be required to be in Ontario, CA the Friday before the Run for training and to help set up and sell merchandise at either the Elks, host hotel or both.
  5. You will need to provide your own transportation unless other arrangements are made with the merchandise truck driver or Sales Team Lead to ride along.

Please reach out to me if you are interested or have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you!

  1. Allen I am a chase driver and after talking with Roger Ford from the Midway run he said that you normally only open the merchandise trailer after each day. If you are still needing help I would be available.
